Art for art's sake
A solo visit to Edinburgh to visit the new Scottish galleries at the National Gallery of Scotland. I'd been meaning to go for a while and, as I found myself at a loose end today (OH had gone to Glasgow to meet two of our sons for some father/son bonding), I hopped on the train to finally put that right. I particularly liked this painting by Peploe - one of the Scottish Colourists. Afterwards, I wandered down to the St. James Quarter which I hadn't visited since its reincarnation, but it's still just a shopping centre - not sure what I expected! - so not somewhere I'd rush back to. Always good to be back in the city of my birth though - so many happy memories and special places there for me.
