The first....

Every year we watch for the first bud on the vine in our conservatory which usually appears around the end of February or in very early March.

Late this afternoon I went searching again, and found this tiny one just showing and looking ( I thought ) like a little alien emerging for a look round a new planet.

Outside we saw the first primrose today, and the first outdoor daffodil and there is growth on the willow up by my study, which was cut back around two months ago.   

Life returning , which is a positive sign after a wet and windy winter,  though I suspect there is still some of that to come.
