Bad Joke Reminders

Packing light for a quick unplanned trip off island. When packing tie-downs/ropes etc I'm always reminded of the terrible joke...

... a piece of string goes into a bar and asks for a pint. The barman says"you're a bit of string aren't you? sorry we don't serve bits of string". So the bit of string leaves.
Five minutes later the the bit of string goes back in again and asks for a pint.
The barman says "aren't you that bit of string I just turned away?"
The bit of string replies "no, I'm a frayed knot"

Yeah, I know, but I did say it was terrible before you read it :-)
