Edinburgh Again.
A very busy day ahead. An early start so that Pat could attend Life Drawing Class at the Scottish Arts Club.
I made my way to the RGBE to check some information for Sally and to have an early lunch. Back to the Scottish Arts Club to pick up Pat and then a drive to Johnston Terrace to meet with Sally and Kim. They had enjoyed their tour of the castle and their ‘tea’
They were at the kerb and came on board full of tails of their morning adventures. Also mentioned was the shopping expedition although nothing was mentioned about any Edinburgh Pub. Apparently none were featuring ‘live music’.
We then headed to Rosslyn Chapel just South of Edinburgh.
Rosslyn Chapel has a remarkable history of fact and fiction. I have posted an extra of some of the books available in the bookshop.
Photographs of the inside of the Chapel are forbidden. My main entry shows some of the sculpture on the outside.
Our guide was quite brilliant with her manner of the chapel. I did note that she omitted any mention of the vibrations that only a few people can detect. I am one of them. Apparently, the policy is not to speak about these.
However, I can confirm that they are still there.
After Rosslyn we drove down to Leith which is Edinburgh’s port.
Much to Pat’s disappointment the Royal Yacht is no longer visible from the road.
Intriguingly driving through the Leith Roads involves very close dicing with the famous trams.
Arriving safely, we enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Ship on The Shore. The second extra shows a ship in the dock visible from our table.
Soon, it was time to return Sally and Kim to their hotel to prepare for their early morning wake-up call to begin the long journey back to California via Dublin.
Edinburgh Streets have become very complicated, especially with the creation of LEZ zone. Luckily our car complies and is allowed to enter.
The complications are further increased by bicycle lanes. I have no quibble with the principal, however the lane markings which meander along the roads are fast wearing away.
I have used Apple Maps exclusively to navigate wherever we go and this fabulous device is a great help. Always assuming the car is equipped with Apple Car Play which ours is.
