Howling Wolf

Today was sunny and bright and our trip was to Stirling. My friend and I did a fair bit of browsing and shopping. After coffee and cake we walked up to the castle. En route I spotted this wolf. Legend has it that in the 9th Century a howling wolf warned the townsfolk of an impending evening raid by the Vikings and saved the town/city from being destroyed. The wolf remains part of the coat of arms to this day.,
