DEVIL'S COACH HORSE (Staphylinus olens)

Early dog walk, then MRMS7 went to the golf course. I sorted out the coat cupboard and put the winter coats away!! I started washing and re-proofing the waterproof coats so they will be clean ready for the winter!!
I went swimming in the afternoon and collected some books from the library.
We took the dogs for their second walk and when we returned we gave them a bath in the garden. They are now very sweet smelling and fluffy, ready for their return home tomorrow.
I rescued the Devil's coach horse beetle from the dogs' water bowl, when this beetle is threatened it curls its tail over its body in a scorpion - like manner and it emits a deterrent smell.
