Woody Heron

We had a nice walk along Pitsford Reservoir today. I've noticed this chappie /chapess before but only snapped it today because I loved the subtle colours in the shot that I hope the edit has bought out.

As to what kind of bird this is I'm a little lost! It looks like a cross between Woody Woodpecker and Henry the Heron.
