Milford Sound

A two hour journey from Te Anau to Milford Sound takes about 3.5 hours when you have to stop and look at the jaw-dropping scenery!

We’d been here 20 years ago for a short afternoon cruise but this time we were staying overnight on the Milford Mariner. Waterfalls, fur seals, bottle-nose dolphins, towering peaks, deep fjords and moody clouds. 

Great food on board, but not a good sleep - engine noise and cabins with paper-thin walls but it was a great experience.
