Bluke

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

No Fazzy or Olivia today, but Briar and Luke were in the office. Luke was as mischievous as ever.

I stepped away from my desk for a moment. When I got back I found that Luke had used my laptop to send a message to Jess saying "quack".

Jess, bless her heart, replied saying, "HIIIIIIIII!!! QUACKKKKKKKK!!!!!"

"Did you 'quack' at Jess?" I asked him. He was delighted to admit that, yes he had.

I went for lunch with Luke and he talked a bit about his past. He is a funny, likable fellow but this was the first time he'd told me a few personal things about himself.

It feels nice. I like it when people feel relaxed enough with me to do that. I gave him a hug afterward. He is very tall.

"I feel like a spider monkey clinging to a tree," I said.

He always makes a fuss of Briar, and if this makes her feel uncomfortable, I can tell she also loves it.

"Briar's hair looks like candy floss," he messaged us both on Teams while she was trapped in a meeting between us.

She did her best to stay professional.

"You should stroke it," he added. "It looks like fine mist."

I suggested we rename her "Flossie". Luke liked that.

So the power-couple that was Bluke may soon become "Blossie" instead.

I would be comfortable with this.
