Calke Abbey

Out with friends, we decided to take a risk on the weather and spent a lovely morning in the park at Calke Abbey.

It was a bit damp when we arrived so we looked around the stables and saw the pictures and tributes to Squirt. This racehorse was in the pedigrees of so many younger heroes - Shergar,  Red Rum, and lots of others.

Out in the park, it stayed pretty dry and we wandered nearly as far as the Ice House. Sheep.  The herd of deer. Lots to see. 

Rain was getting closer so we headed back.
