Another Scorcher
Sorry to harp on this, but our weather has been unusually oppressive for this early in the year. Today is expected to hit at least 105F (41C) and will be the 28th straight day of 90F+ (32C) weather. During that time, we've only seen 1.19" (30.23mm) of rain. Rain for the month is 2.60" (66.04mm) below normal, and rainfall for the year is 10.75" (273.05mm) below normal. I don't know what people did here before air conditioning... These temps aren't terribly unusual for August, but they're quite unusual for June, breaking records on many days. Found a small gas leak somewhere in the wall behind the stove last evening, now we'll be without indoor cooking or hot water at least until Monday, the earliest we might get repairs - at who knows what cost, with the leak being behind a wall... Argh.
