The Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) bill

Today the equal marriage bill was published and I attended a small event to mark the start of its parliamentary journey.

The bill will be steered through the Scottish Parliament by Alex Neil MSP who is the Cabinet Secretary for Health and is the one holding a copy of the bill in this picture.

As this bill is introduced another bill passed its final stage today. The Scottish Independence Referendum (Franchise) bill passed today. It is a bill that will allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote in the Independence referendum on 18th September 2014.
