The Ivy ~ Asia
Josh & Natalie kindly gifted us a voucher for Christmas to visit The Ivy Asia. The voucher was valid for a year but if we booked before the end of March we would get a free bottle of champagne. So today was the day.
Josh has been to this one and one in Guildford but suggested we went to this one for the wow factor. Unlike their visit when they had a perfect view of the cathedral, we were seated further back but that was fine.
We arrived early and had a little walk around but it was cold and starting to rain so we headed to the restaurant hoping to grab a drink in the bar but it was too busy so, at their suggestion, we headed to the top floor where there was another restaurant and bar. We sat outside, under cover and with heaters to enjoy a pre dinner cocktail with lovely views despite the weather. The main blip was taken in the lift going up to the bar.
We opted for the red dragon menu, a set menu of many different dishes to delight the tastebuds. I’ve included some of the food in extras ( I forgot to take some of them, remembering once it was stuffed in my mouth), including the very pretty jewelled napkin ring. There are also two screenshots of videos I took of dishes that came out with dried ice performing its theatrical bit. A lovely meal and a restaurant we would like to return to.
Extras of food, St.Pauls including reflections and different shots within the restaurant. The red and green floor was lit up but you can’t really appreciate it in the photos. Mr C took the one of the samurai in the men’s loo ;-D , the ladies loo were more refined with the mirror and flowery walls.
All in all a lovely evening.
