Impromptu Coffee

Messaged Clare for an impromptu coffee and scone in Waitrose this afternoon. Cheese for her, fruit and jam for me. Spotted this painting on the cafe wall and rather liked it.

Listened to update on C’s hubby who had a mini stroke this week. He seems to be doing okay but it could happen again at any time. Such a worry for her.

Felt grumpy all day on account of having to skip my swim again as the knee heals. Realised how much I’ve got used to exercise every day. Planned an afternoon walk but it didn’t stop raining. Tincture and balm doing the trick and rest is no harm I guess.

Arrived home to a mouse in the trap that was still wiggling. Took it outside to fling it in the garden and it was dead by the time I got there. Hoping it doesn’t have any friends but will buy more traps just in case.

Boring easy dinner of waitrose fish pie that tasted of nothing much, the green beans were more exciting! Enjoyed Call the Midwife and a glass of red much more.
