Garden prep

A truly delightful afternoon working in the warm sunshine! We pulled out the dead corn stalks, broccoli plants, and asparagus ferns and covered the whole space with black plastic.
The sun will heat the ground under the plastic to temperatures high enough to kill the weeds. We will remove the plastic in early May and then it will be ready for planting.
