Marking Our Territory

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

You may have been wondering what has been going on with the land out the back of our house.

There has been a long period of inactivity for which I have been very grateful. It turns out that the sneaky old beggar who owns the property is ill and that's why everything was allowed to go overgrown again.

But sadly, last month the digger was back and all the weeds and brambles were dug up again. Shortly after this, the land went up on a property website. It seems the old guy is just trying to sell the land off for someone ELSE to develop.

Caro noted that the land which had been cleared goes right up to our back fence. Which is cheeky, because our land actually extends well beyond that.

Hence: Mo. Our surveyor pal with hollow legs. I promised him a slap-up dinner in exchange for him putting in official pegs, demarking the land that is ACTUALLY up for sale.

Here he is doing his surveyor thing.

For his efforts, Mo got a roast lamb with mash and roast pumpkin, broccoli, courgette and lashings of gravy. Followed by apple crumble with custard.

It's good to have friends. It's even better to have friends with GPS.

S.
