Cemetery
We have a smal Jewish cemetery in our village.
I made the blip over the protective wall, because it is always closed, especially on Saturdays.
In the extra you can find a QR-code, that leads to a short talk by the museum in Reinheim about the cemetery (only in German):
"The archivist for the city of Groß-Bieberau, Georg Krell, reports on the Jewish cemetery at the entrance to Groß-Bieberau, on Schaubacher Berg. The property was purchased by the Jewish Community of Groß-Bieberau. They built the cemetery on it in 1889. Before that, the deceased were buried in Dieburg (about 15 km away). The Reinheim Jewish community then bought into the Groß-Bieberauers in 1930. However, there were also Reinheim burials earlier. The first gravestone for the teacher who died in1891 was made of sandstone and is already heavily weathered. Other tombs were made of polished granite. They are still very readable today."
