The Eagle Has Landed
At noon we left for an eagle-hunt along the river. No luck at the first stop near the redemption building so we moved north to the boat landing. Two juvenile eagles were visible but too far away for the camera. It was so cold the water appeared to be black, but what a brilliant blue sky! The last stop did not disappoint. We found two immature eagles perched in different trees overlooking the water, along with this beautiful mature eagle resting on top of a pine tree, surrounded by pine cones, opposite from us. You can tell by his neck feathers the wind was blowing • Below a group of male and female common goldeneyes and female mergansers enjoyed the open water • A successful hunt, I’d say! • Happy Weekend!
