Chime In…

We need the blip community to chime in…just a simple thumbs up, or thumbs down.

Our little community prides itself on its village feel, and the fact that at age 150, it is one of the oldest settlements in the metropolitan area. (For those of you who live in Europe…isn’t that precious?)

The central two blocks do have a heritage look and feel and are often the setting for movies, particularly Hallmark Christmas movies.

Any new buildings are encouraged to have a ‘retro’ look, like having false fronts.
Recently, the municipal government spent a great deal to turn an irregular lot (see map) at the entrance to the ‘village’ into a town square with benches and conversation areas. They capped off the project by erecting this sign, which illuminates at night, and sparked a controversy. Some love it. Others hate it because it does not conform to the heritage look of the village.

Thumbs up? Or down?
