The Event
On March 21st 2013, a tumble down our front steps resulted in substantial damage to my knee and thigh muscles requiring emergency surgery.

Recovery
Oreo, our 13 year old Maltipoo, took on the responsibility of seeing to my speedy recovery. He would curl up on my swollen leg as I rested with my leg raised and saw to it that no harm came to me. He even played escort following right behind me as I got around with crutches and a leg brace to ensure my safety.
