River of Flowers

Friday: Blue Sky … and Hailstones :-((

Very cold 5°C when we got up but dry, temperature fairly constant all day.

MrD went off to work and after breakfast I made meatballs in tomato sauce for his dinner this evening, I had a morning of seed sowing planned …

Weather was bright but still cold, so I put on my very heavy old work fleece jacket and went outside to sort the seed compost I’d prepared a few days ago when I’d started the tomatoes and chillies off. UPDATE: another tomato variety has germinated - Maskotka.

I’d found a stock of small plant pots in the greenhouse and was on my way back when the heavens opened and I got pelted with some very large and cold hailstones …!! :-(( …ouch … not to be deterred, I filled 8 pots and 2 x medium cells with 10 spaces, took them into the kitchen for seed sowing.

Seeds sown today : Courgette “Striato d’Italia”, Tomato “Sweet Million”, Gherkin, Cucamelon, Cape gooseberry, Swiss chard “Rainbow”, Lettuce “Red & Green” Spinach “Perpetual”.

Continued watching Series 4 of the “The Durrells” …

Love and hugs to all my family XXXX XXX XX

Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
