tea for two (dozen)

Em and I spent the morning on a nearby strip of beach collecting hermit crabs, building a sand city and paddling. The beach is on a small island next to a religious retreat. We go there quite a bit. It's small, sheltered and rarely used by others (the beach, not the retreat!). Em busied herself with finding and collecting 'jewels' to decorate her castles. We were joined on the beach by Cathy, a guest at the retreat - she was about to take her daily dip. We very soon realised we'd met on the same spot last year. Small world.

We passed the afternoon very pleasantly indeed at a friends 'Strawberry Tea'. Delicious cakes, pastries and of course strawberries. Lots of good conversation and plenty of opportunity for Em to run about in the garden with her little friends.
