Just in case you need it...
In five days I finished my latest 400 pages read. The best feelgood book I've read in ages. It's wonderful. Need a recommendation? Read this. And while you're at it, you'll get more recommendations.
The book is called The Reading List. By Sara Nisha Adams.
It is about loneliness and loss, life's struggles and it's about books and about connecting.
A mysterious list of books pops up in several people's lives. Amongst whom the 17 year old Aleisha, working as a librarian during the summer holidays. When she even doesn't like to read fiction. But she's supposed to advise the elderly Mukesh who ends up at the library returning one of the books his wife had borrowed. She died a couple of years ago. Aleisha just found the list and uses it to advise Mukesh and she starts reading the books herself as well. Reading the books together brings them closer.
It's not all cheery stuff. There's sadness in this book as there's sadness in the books they read. But books can help you cope and can give you a different way of looking at things. The most important message in this book.
