Mary and I met about 17 years ago through a mutual friend that we lost touch with after she left the area with health issues and stopped contacting us.


 
For much of that time Mary has been in pain and on high doses of medication. Finally, she got a proper (full lower body) x-ray and has been told she has no cartilage in either knee and her leg bones no longer line up properly.
 
She is waiting for a treatment plan meanwhile we had lunch (same pub as yesterday!) because it’s her birthday on Monday but we always have lunch on a Thursday (now).

We both had steak ciabatta.
