Tax (office) comes down
Near where we live was one of the main HMRC Tax offices. Several years ago it closed, presumably due to modernisation and the move towards online submission of tax returns. The large buildings have remained empty but a month ago they started the demolition of the blot on our landscape. It is fascinating to watch as they nibble at the upper floors sending down huge blocks of concrete. Despite the heavy rain, the crane on the right is hosing water on the part being “nibbled”, presumably to reduce the release of dust.
