Finding lovely things where you can

I was out fetching in my bin and got chatting with my two doors away neighbour who was doing the same. Within a few seconds we both said how overwhelmed we are with genocide, cruelty, poverty, lying and dishonesty - and a seemingly endless list of other terrible things, including climate change which is now screaming in our faces, and still is ignored. Anyhow we then both said how necessary it is to find the positive and the beautiful wherever we can. And there beside us was this fabulous hellebore. He’s not much of a gardener but this wonderful plant flowers happily every year. It was even holding its head up a bit, ready to have its portrait taken
