Pink Pussy Willow (Salix gracilistyla Mount Aso)
Our monthly visit to Hoghton Hall Garden Centre. While there I bumped into an ex-colleague that I hadn't seen for a few years, we had a good catch up. During the conversation he said "We come one a month for the members free coffee" .... Great minds obviously think alike.
During our look round I noticed this pink "Pussy Willow". Part of the reason was the sun (yes there was a strange golden thing in the sky) was lighting it from behind. Not having seen it before I had to look it up. Slow growing (3mx3m in 20 years) tolerant of most soil types and likes full sun. The foliage has an interesting silvery underside.
