CyclopsJnr enjoyed starting swimming at school today - they only get a block of a few weeks each year as the school doesn't have its own pool.

Afterwards we built a bit more of his engine.  Everything is complete and when you turn the engine over the pistons and valves move and the (LED) spark plugs fire.  He finds it fascinating.  There is an electric motor to keep it turning, but that isn't working quite right - the drive gear keeps slipping, even though when turned by hand the engine feels reasonably loose.  Some final tinkering and fettling required.  Just like real engineering.
