First of all apologies for my poor record on commenting on fellow Blipers journals and responding to comments on my Blips.
A horizontal day for me, Angie walked the dogs in Ottobeuren as she could shelter in the forests - we had hail, wind, rain, sun today. In the afternoon she visit friend Kathi & they went over to a western saddlery/equipment shop. Angie needed a bit for Sultan with shanks he can't bite on (bad habit). Then spent some time at Kathi's stables watching her & two others have an hours training. As before, everyone there was so friendly and also wanted to know where the dogs were. We have had several dog-sitter offers from them should we ever be able to go on holiday!
In the meantime I arose late afternoon and managed to potter around a bit. The horses on noticing my presence mistook my mucking out the shelter for filling buckets with edible goodies and came in from the field in elephant manner Rosie (the boss) followed by the two boys, Asyr and Sultan.
One of the photos I took was of Rosie's rear end which has again exploded. Quarter Horses have very powerful hind quarters but hers is abnormal and has something to do with the unknown illness/genetic disease she has causing her to go lame when cantering. She was negative (just) for Cushings and when we took her off all cereals she reacted, initially, very positive but she then tested negative for EPSM which would have been the logical conclusion. There is a further EPSM test which can be carried out but only in the USA =expensive. All very frustrating as she is otherwise very pleasant to ride. Any Blip vets out there with a tip?
