One of the houses on the High Street has made it's porch available for a charity fundraiser.  People tend to browse the books and make a donation if they take one.  Others bring books to add to the pile.  It's been quite self sufficient for a few years and lots of money has been raised.

In recent months there was trouble with the money being stolen and the book step disappeared for a while.  

Today I was glad to see that it's back and some measures in place (a chain and a camera) to stop the thieves.
