Hotel in Love Lane Georgetown

Love Lane used to be a very disreputable lane in Georgetown, full if brothels and drugs. It's now gentrified and a lovely old street to walk down. Penang's history is fascinating, with all the colonial snobbery and influx of Hokkien Chinese and the mix with local Malays and Indians. I am reading The House of doors by Tan Twan Eng.
