Swan Lake
Another scorcher today.
We spent the morning in Castle Douglas, checking out some of the nice shops. There is still a bustling high street here with lots of individual shops despite the large Tesco on the outskirts of the town.
There's also a very nice park with a large loch/boating pond, and more swans than you're likely to see in any one place. Being a spaniel, breagha takes great delight in chasing-off birds whenever she gets the chance. That was until today when the swan she tried it with chased her off instead. I'd like to think she's now learned her lesson, but that's perhaps hoping for too much.
After lunch we went back to the beach for some more sand-castles and beach tennis. The tide had already gone out and as it's the Solway it really does go out.
In the evening it was still very hot and we had to go to the Anchor in Kippford and sit outside in the setting sun eating ice-cream.
