Once each Summer

In Scotland you must seize the chance to exhibit your barbecue skills when you can and we were fortunate tonight to entertain our daughter Morna and her husband Ken at a select alfresco meal some ingredients of which were supplied courtesy of HRH Prince Charles and the beef sausages were purchased from a little known source which has no need to advertise since those of us in the know can vouch for their superiority over all others.
I confess the provenance of the chicken was withheld.
However the highlight of the evening was to come. An accredited descendant of Robert the Bruce and the Stuart line rang (now that's an old fashioned term!) to invite mine host to dine at the Crusoe Tavern in mid July. How could I refuse!
Indeed a right royal occasion it has been.
