quite a day

We were awoken in the very early hours by Eve who delivered Isaac to our bed. The poor boy was very suddenly in the most horrendous pain with his ear - fever and misery. After a few hours of him screaming in agony, I discovered that our insurance includes 24 hour video GP appointments. I can’t even fathom that level of modernity - and privilege. Incredible service. Long story short, we got Isaac what he needed and slept off the night and somehow still managed an amazing day.

We headed to Cascais for lunch and a play on the beach under glorious blue skies. Then Belem - Davvero gelato (as often mentioned on aA’s blips - and rightly so) for Ant and the kids and custard tarts for the resident fatty (I am she). A wander round LX factory (marvellous and includes a massive second-hand bookstore amongst many other treats) and eventually home to get our trooper, Isaac, to his bed. Of course he failed to get into said bed and sat up eating pizza and chattering away.

A treat of a day, ending with delicious Portuguese wine.
