Tight Lid.... no problem

The Mono Monday theme today is " Tight ".  So here you can see a jar with a tight lid and also the "gadget " I used to open the lid.  Its a silicone jar opener which helps you grip the lid and twist it open.  The other good thing about it is that it sticks to the glass on my microwave so I can have it on display.  The beautiful birds are a male and female Northern Cardinal. ( see Extra for the colour version ) This lovely jar opener was a gift from a blip friend in America.  Thanks to laurie54 for hosting the challenge.

I had a phone call this morning from the pharmacy at the Queen Elizabeth hospital regarding delivery of my next batch of injection pens. They will come on Friday afternoon.  They need to be delivered by a courier as they have to be kept refrigerated.

I had a wander down to the village this afternoon. Did some shopping in Herons and Tesco as usual ... and collected two parcels from Tesco. 

When I got back to The Close I met my neighbour K.  We had a long chat .... about Newcastle United.  He has some involvement with the club as he looks after autistic children on match days and he also does the behind the scenes tours on non match days.  There are the usual tours, VIP tours, tours for autistic children and also for visually impaired people.  They are soon going to start tours aimed at hearing impaired fans too.  Apart from all that he takes special needs children to and from school in his car. And he's helping his daughter and son in law with their decorating at the moment.  They live in The Close too so at least he doesn't have far to go when he's helping out.  He's busier than ever since he retired ( he used to be a special needs teacher.)
