Friends

We went to Belmont House and Gardens in Kent and appeared to be the only visitors. It was self-serve entry and a self-serve cafe, all via an honesty box. For such a large site, I was amazed.

For the first half hour, it rained hard and we sat with coffees on the covered veranda. The only sound was the birds. It was so peaceful. The rest of the day was truly springlike and warm. We saw many spring flowers, bees, birds and a butterfly. Bliss.

To cap off a lovely day, we saw this lady exercising her bird of prey in fields, backlit by the beautiful late afternoon  sun. 

But why oh why didn't I ask her what the bird was, though?
