"I never look back, darling! It distracts from the now." - Edna The Incredibles (2004)
Tortie, who hibernated as she always does, in her luxury penthouse box in the loft, was awake yesterday when Gareth checked on her, so today she had a short spell in the sunny but neither warm nor dry garden. Rufus was fascinated by this apparently moving living rock. He circled her, sniffed her, barked at her, ran away from her, and then just settled at a distance to watch. She is now asleep in the garage. This is always.a tricky time of year - neither cold enough to sleep nor warm enough to eat. When we've fashioned some kind of pen, she can live indoors till Spring is firmly sprung.
It was a grand afternoon and evening. Bro cooked a full Sunday roast dinner (both carnivore and vegetarian options) in my kitchen for six of us - Maddy (niece), Harry (her b/f), William (Nº1 nephew), Katy (his g/f), bro of course and me. William made brownies for desert. We ate around 4pm and then, sometime later, suitably satiated, settled to watch 'The Incredibles' on my marvelously monstrous still new-ish TV. I've never seen the film and thoroughly enjoyed this animation and the main character's existential crisis and various hilarious Sartre-Camus style references.
