Caerlaverock
We started the day with a rather drizzly visit to Caerlaverock castle - both the recent one (completed in 1270) and the older one where you can just see the foundations (1230). CyclopsJnr enjoyed making his own Coat of Arms in the visitor centre, as well as exploring all the dark corners.
Afterwards we had a lovely lunch at the Boathouse cafe in Glencaple.
It was properly raining by early afternoon, so we went for a swim, then explored the Dumfries museum which is as charming as it is eclectic.
We played Zombie Dice for a bit in the bar when we got back to the hotel, then watched Gladiators (very exciting!) while we ate take-away pizza for dinner.
