Sunshine and puddles

Last night we enjoyed our dinner at our friends' house, the food was delicious and it was great to see them again. We left at 11.50pm but only got home just after 1am, and then by the time I had got ready for bed it was nearly 2am, so a very late night. We were tired when we woke up but nothing like a walk in fresh air to feel more energetic again!

Today was forecast to be raining all day, but after overnight rain it turned out to be a lovely day with sunshine. We had a good walk on the common, where you can see the large puddle from the rain. 

Gavin and I went to our local pub for Sunday lunch, they know us so well there now and we always enjoy their food as they have a small menu which they regularly change. We have both decided to only have one course which was a good idea, as when we left the restaurant we felt very comfortable and not over stuffed!

In the afternoon we had a walk around our neighbourhood. We have had incidences of break ins here that goes in waves, we haven't had any for a while, but there was one attempted break in on Valentines Day (the thieves probably thought people were out to dinner) but they were interrupted by the security company, and there was another one on Friday night, again the thieves were foiled by the security company and police. Today on our walk we heard a house alarm going off and next thing six police cars came racing along the road to the house where the alarm was going off. We are on a neighbourhood WhatsApp group and it seems the owners were in London for the day and when the alarm went off they thought someone was in their house so contacted the security company who contacted the police. Luckily it turned out to be a false alarm but everyone is a little jumpy at the moment.
