Stopover
Not our usual Premier Inn kind of stopping place to break the journey south, but it makes a change. We decided we wanted to stay in a place with open space, gardens, slightly more luxurious rooms, a comfortable lounge . . . and the promise of a nice meal without having to look around for somewhere. So Gordon found this impressive place close to Stroud and a good deal for a Sunday in February.
It’s a lovely place and nice to walk through the grounds in the sunshine this afternoon.
Meanwhile our daughter and her husband have arrived in New Zealand and are now settled in with their friends in Auckland. This may provide a clue as to where we are heading tomorrow, especially as Joanne said she would sort out the heating - imagine sorting out the heating from the other side of the world . . . astonishing.
