The world has been upside down

And now it feels a bit more normal.

Beautiful Dunkeld, by the River Almond. Less than an hour away and another world. Mist over the hills, through the trees. Red squirrels again, birdsong, salmon hiding under the surface somewhere. A lovely, lovely spring morning, walking by 9am.

I could have posted lots of photos, the sun over the river, the magnificent supporting steel structure of the A9 spanning the River Almond.

But I was drawn to this drop of water on a small branch down by the river. Last week I could not feel a connection with the world, with nature, with myself even. Things that normally bring me joy were not. I was passing through alone, unconnected.

Today was vibrant. And the trees down by the water were heavy with moisture - dew, mist, fog hanging like small fruit. And I felt connected gain. The water that came from the river being returned to it. Ripples on the surface as it dropped back in.

Through this dew drop, the world looked upside down. Noticing this, I realised I was the right way up again.
