Woke up (too) early so decided to give the fireplace a second coat – I will probably do a third coat tomorrow to fully seal it.

 
Quick bit of shopping and then decided to start clearing an overgrown raised bed near the house.  Hidden under an aged Cotoneaster that has had a proper cut back are these pink hyacinths that need thinning out.
 
For years before he died my daughter’s godfather used to send me a bowl of bulbs at Christmas – I never told him I really don’t like the smell because it makes me sneeze.  However, each year I randomly planted them in the garden to acknowledge the kind thought.  I’ll thin this clump out now I can see it properly.
