Unprotected Protection Area

It was another grey day, but mostly dry. So B and I went for our weekend walk. But a shorter one than usual, because she had hurt her ankle last week and didn’t want to risk damaging it more. 

The shorter route took us past this sorry sight. The sign once said „Amphibien-Schutzgebiet“ (protected area for amphibians), but the little valley looks exactly as overgrown as the sign itself, and there are no ponds or even puddles where amphibians could spawn, and tadpoles could grow.

I suppose it has been forgotten by the people who once wanted to protect the amphibians in that valley.
