We were on our way to see a performance of 'The Massacre' which is about the Peterloo Massacre where women and children were bayonetted merely for walking in a peaceful protest to support their husbands in asking for a vote, and to protest against povery. The play took place in an old warehouse and involved walking around to different floors and was 1800's and 1980's changing places. The first act was set as a rave with pounding music and flashing lights and the audience was part of it. They even handed out fake E's!
The last part where we were spectators at the 1819 massacre was very moving. We should all be grateful to have the vote.
