Sunset in Nervi, Italy

A beautiful sunset at Nervi this evening where we are staying. It’s just outside Genoa on the very calm Mediterranean.

After breakfast, we walked along the side of Lake Viverone enjoying the views of the mountains in the distance. We had a coffee next to the lake outside the only open cafe. It must be buzzing along here in the summer but for now it’s very peaceful. We saw a Black Necked Swan, see extra, that we can only assume had escaped from somewhere.

We then drove for two hours to Nervi. The last section above Genoa was very busy and not very pleasant on the windy motorway. After meeting our friends at the hotel we walked along the sea front which was beautiful. For dinner we went to a local Trattoria that served fantastic seafood. It was great to have an Italian with us as he helped with food choices and translated our conversations with the owner.
