Tête-à-tête
I haven’t been “tête-à-tête” with anyone today, as I’ve largely spent the day alone (intentionally), catching up with bill-paying, laundry and other necessary but uninspiring things.
These perfect little tête-à-tête narcissi are blooming in the garden at Tiptree. I remember buying them many years ago in John Lewis, in bud and full of promise in a plant pot, and giving them to Mum and Dad as a gift. When they’d finished flowering, Dad planted them out and they’ve multiplied and come up every year since. There’s a lovely thick clump of them now and they’re at their very best.
