Daisy
We had a bright and early start to the morning, Thomas was a finalist in a music competition at school which was starting at 8am so we had to get there early.
Every year his school runs a Young Musician of the Year competition, similar to the BBC one (on a much smaller scale of course), whereby there are different classes of instrument - strings, woodwind, brass, piano and voice - and there are semi-finals per class and the winner of each class goes through to the Grand Final. Thomas won the Brass Final today and so goes through to the Grand Final in 2 weeks time. He won it last year as well so he was very nervous as there was a certain expectation on him. All good practice as tomorrow he has his grade 7 exam. I had hoped to get a photo of the semi finals but he was rather nervous and so would not have appreciated a camera stuck in his face. In fact I was even more nervous than him and could not have held my camera I had such shaky hands!
So a daisy will have to do...all the wild flowers are over around here, and this is the last of the daisies on the lawn, looking rather forlorn and alone.
