My Best Efforts - Year 3

By AMC

Sisyrinchium........

...........which is a very fancy name for a very modest plant!! Our local Garden Centre sometimes gives out an odd bulb or tuber when a purchase is made - and this was one of those.
When this tuber first showed itself some while ago, I thought it was an Iris - after that it produced a stem which had what looked like seed heads on it - a couple of days ago, the "seed heads" opened and these tiny white flowers with a flush of yellow towards the middle appeared. Each flower is only about half an inch across. Being without too much impact, I can see that the Garden Centre wouldn't regard them as great sellers, which is perhaps why they were giving them away. I do think, however, that if there were a large group of them, they would look better! They do spread so we will see if they do next year.

Anni has arrived safely in Baltimore after some sort of hold-up at immigration - next stop I believe is Chicago.

LATEST UPDATE - ANNI IS STUCK IN BALTIMORE DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER IN CHICAGO - ALL AT THE AIRPORT HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL, BUT THERE IS NOTHING MUCH THEY CAN DO! FINGERS CROSSED FOR HER!

Weather is very pleasantly warm - mostly sunny but some heavyish cloud - temperature around 65 deg F.

Have a good day and thank you everyone for your continuing comments and stars - I am very behind with comments - I do apologise!
