Guarding the way in

I was sitting at the computer dealing with things when I heard a Kereru flying not far from the open door onto the wee deck outside my study. The Kereru was easily seen as it was on a branch extending over the drive. I was able to pick up my camera and get a nice portrait.

Late this afternoon I had one of my shorter walks, on which I saw an immature Blackbird swallowing a worm it had caught.
