I met John and Oscar on Hampstead Heath.
Later in the evening, when I stepped on to the train to go home, there they were again.
John retired from driving buses last year, after he had been stabbed 18 times in the chest during a night shift, "The guy had had a bad day". He unbuttoned his shirt to show me the scar.
Oscar may look like a lap dog but he has the presence of a Great Dane, and their love is huge.
